At Cornish Holiday Cottages we pride ourselves on our select portfolio of 60+ properties. Established since 1977 and still with our roots firmly in the Falmouth and Helford River area we have long since learnt that it pays to specialise in a small area, as this gives us the ability to be more informed when you need advice on a great restaurant or dog friendly beach, for example. It also means that we are on hand should you need us, whatever time of day or night.
All of our cottages are either right on the water's edge or within 2 miles, so you don't have to go far for that relaxing day, by, on or in the water!

James Wharram
In the mid 50's, based on his research into ancient Polynesian boat design, James Wharram built the first off-shore Catamaran in Britain and sailed it out into the Atlantic. While the world's yachting community were busy dismissing such a design as a worthy sea-going vessel, James was landing his 23'6" 'Double Hulled Canoe' in the West Indies.
There he built a second 40' Polynesian style Catamaran and sailed it back to the UK accompanied by two young German girls -being the first to sail a catamaran across the North Atlantic.
These amazing Trans-Atlantic crossings and the follow up book "Two Girls, Two Catamarans" has etched the name 'James Wharram' into the annals of yachting history.
The quality of the Wharram self-build catamarans is reflected in their popularity, excellence of craftmanship and 'sound sailing qualities'. 50 years on - with 10,000 sets of plans sold and thousands turned into proud vessels - Wharram 'Cats' can be seen in harbours across the world maintaining the highest reputation for surviving wind and wave.
Our well maintained camping pitches are both generous and level, most with electric hook-up points (16amp) and panoramic views of the Cornish countryside.
There is plenty of space in which to enjoy a family BBQ, or to sit and relax in an idyllic setting, whilst reading a book. Our pitch areas: Swift, Pheasant, Jay, Owl and Woodpecker are all within easy reach of our facilities. If you have an area preference, we will do our utmost to accommodate your request. Washing-up is made easier for all the family by the thoughtful positioning of 24hr dishwashing facilities with free hot water, complete with a drinking water tap and waste water disposal point, all within thirty metres of most pitches.
If you would like to try camping and do not yet have the equipment, just hire one of our popular Super Eurotents. To avoid disappointment, please book early for our popular main summer season. Please remember, for the benefit of all of our visitors, guests and their children we are a no pet park.
